The Ellen Show Comes to BU

On Tuesday, October 22, The Ellen DeGeneres Show used Twitter to announce a live filming of the show on Boston University's campus.

Ellen challenged students to dress like Green Monsters, to show their red sox pride, with red socks.

Over 500 fans came to the show's live filming, many of which were dressed as Green Monsters. The crowd waited hours, through a short rain shower, until the filming began. "We probably have about a thousand people here, and I'd say well over half of them are dressed as Green Monsters from head to toe," said Jeannie Klisiewicz, Ellen's receptionist, who also acts as a correspondent for the show. On air, Ellen challenged the Boston crowd to take a scary photo with a stranger. Nikki Lazos, a Boston University senior, won the competition, taking home $5,000 and World Series tickets. Karen Contador, a runner-up in the photo contest and a freshman at Boston University, won the opportunity to compete for World Series tickets on The Ellen Show in Los Angeles.
